Hanapa‘a Lettering

This lettering design is based on blackletter design. I vectorized the Hawaiian word Hanapa‘a in a custom blackletter design along with the design elements around it. Hanapa‘a is said by local fisherman when they catch or hook-up on a fish. I designed this piece as a momentum for my friend who recently sold his boat and I wanted to capture the good times we shared catching ahis. This piece was later professionally laser printed onto a bamboo cutting board.
